This tailor-made EBC group tour covers highlights in Lhasa such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor market, Drepung and Sera Monastery, and other famous sites from and to Everest Base Camp, such as Lake Yamdrok, Karola Glacier, Pelkhor Monastery and Tashilhunpo Monastery. Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa. We pick you up from the airport/train station and transfer you to your Lhasa hotel. You rest well for acclimatization. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 2: Lhasa highlights: Visit UNESCO-listed Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Streets. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 3: Lhasa monasteries: Visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 4: Lhasa -Yamdroktso - Karola Glacier -Gyantse Kumbum and Pelkor Monastery-Shigatse (350km). Overnight in Shigatse.
Day 5: Shigatse - Lhatse - Shegar (New Tingri) - Everest Base Camp (340 km). Views of Himalayas and visit Rongbuk monastery. Overnight at Everest Base Camp guesthouse.
Day 6: Everest Base Camp - Shigatse (340 km). Overnight in Shigatse.
Day 7: Shigatse - Lhasa (280km). Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery and then return to Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 8: Transfer to airport/train station for departure.

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa
Our local Tibetan guide will greet you at the train station and transfer you to your hotel. You will spend the rest of the day acclimatizing to the high altitude. If you feel like going out, you may take a stroll on Potala Square or in the historic center of Lhasa. It is important to have a good night of sleep and not rush to the attractions. Overnight in Lhasa Yak Hotel or similar.
Day 2: Lhasa highlights tour: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Streets.
We visit the single most iconic architecture in Tibet, Potala Palace, which is the winter palace of Dalai Lama. You will see both the public offices and residential quarters of Dalai Lama, as well as a massive collection of artworks and religious treasure, including stupas of past Dalai Lamas and a statue of Tsongkhapa. After lunch, we will head to Jokhang Temple, the most important and sacred temple in Tibet. Surrounding the temple are Bakhor streets, a busy and lively area for dining, shopping and entertainment. You will encounter many local Tibetans performing pilgrimages and ritualistic prostrations there. Overnight in Lhasa Yak Hotel or similar.
Day 3: Lhasa monasteries tour: visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery.
In the morning we visit Drepung Monaster on the hill. We will walk up the mountain to have a great view of the entire monastery as well as Lhasa city in the valley. We then explore the different chambers inside the monastery. You will see beautiful Tibetan artifacts, statues and burning butter. Once we reach the highest point, we will find monks praying in the grand assembly hall, or observe monks using large kettles to prepare food in the kitchen beside. In the afternoon we visit Sera monastery and watch the famous monk debate session. Overnight in Lhasa Yak Hotel or similar.
Day 4: Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Karola Glacier-Gyantse Kumbum and Pelkor Monastery-Shigatse(350 km)
We cross Kampala Pass (4797 m) and then Karola Pass (5050 m). We will first encounter the stunning holy lake of Yamdrok-Tso and then Karola Glacier only steps off the main road. We will visit Pelkhor Chode Monastery in Gyantse that houses the most important Tibetan paintings in Kumbum Stupa, and the majestic Gyantse Dzong (fortress) that overlooks the valley. Overnight in Shigatse Manasarovar Hotel or similar.
Day 5: Shigatse-Everest Base Camp(340km)
We then drive to Everest today, the highest mountain in the world. Our trip involves crossing the high pass of Gyatso La (5220 m), where we will have the opportunity to see Mt. Everest and the Himalayas for the first time! Located at the foot of the Everest is Rongpuk Monastery (4900m), the highest monastery in the world. In its background, we will catch a glimpse of several other peaks like Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu. When we get ourselves settled down in the camp site, it will be just in time to see the sunset turn the Everest peak into golden color. Overnight at campsite dorm or Rongbuk guesthouse.
Day 6: Everest Base Camp-Shigatse(340km)
Wake up this morning below the stunning north face of Mt. Everest. For those tourists want to go to Base Camp in the morning to have closer view to Everest, we can take the local environment tour vehicle to Everest. Then we drive back to Shigatse. Overnight in Shigatse Manasarovar Hotel or similar.
Day 7: Shigatse-Lhasa (280km)
We visit the prominent Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse. Built in the 15th century by the first Dalai Lama, it has since been the seat of Panchen Lamas. We recommend that you do Kora pilgrimage around the monastery. We then return to Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa Yak Hotel or similar.
Day 8: Departure Day in Lhasa
You will enjoy your final moments in Tibet. Our guide and driver will then pick you up and transfer you to the airport or train station. We hope you have gathered precious memory of your time in Tibet, and we wish you the best on your future adventure.
